Stress. What is stress?
Strain, pressure, intense effort, worry, apprehension are all synonyms. There are various ideas of the definition of stress. Piecing together a few definitions we get:
Stress is somebody’s reaction to a change or event that requires a physical, mental or emotional adjustment or response. It can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, nervous or anxious. It is a way to react to a challenge or pressure in the environment. Stress can include any event or occurrence that a person considers a threat to his or her coping strategies or resources.
What are some causes of stress? Death of a friend or loved one, relationships in general or lack there of, money, relatives, co-workers, deadlines, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, lack of production, the list goes on and on.
What does stress cause? It causes poor immune system, tight muscles, headaches, restlessness, fatigue and more.
So, what can be done about it? Besides the hundreds of therapies and drugs, a person can start by handling it naturally.
First, let’s look at your diet. You would be AMAZED at the number of food allergies today. And they are deceptive because they can make you tired, not to mention itchiness, swelling, nausea, congestion, runny noses and even dizziness. These symptoms can contribute to stress. Also, are the foods you are eating giving you the nutrients you need? A diet full of carbohydrates, sweets or greasy food leaving out the fresh fruits and veggies is not conducive of an active stress-free lifestyle.
Why do people need supplements? Well you don’t if you get the nutrients your body needs from your food. That means eating food with those nutrients and your body is able to digest those foods.
